Supporting Stormwater Program Management Program With ArcGIS

Stormwater Program Management

As the City of Peoria’s Stormwater Program Manager, CMT is working closely with public works staff to elevate their geographic information system (GIS) and asset management strategies and capabilities. As part of the Stormwater Program, CMT has helped the City update its stormwater GIS to a unified, industry-standard schema and worked to acquire and populate additional data and map development. This now includes 200 miles of stormwater assets, including 18,000 pipe segments.

The project team is also incorporating cycles of CCTV into the system. This more robust, consistent, and built-out dataset is proving useful in better prioritizing stormwater improvements, which promotes a more effective maintenance and capital planning process.

CMT also developed applications for survey teams and engineers to acquire real-time data in the field, including pick-ups of missing data or hidden assets. The application is also used by City staff for outfall inspections and recommendations.
