Runway 15/33 is designated as the busiest runway in the nation given this busy airport’s tight configuration that limits operations to one runway at a time. CMT led a large multidisciplinary team to accomplish the design to fully rehabilitate this runway as a part of a comprehensive multi-year program including Runway 1/19 and other taxiways. The nearly $95 million project included replacement and LED conversion of all runway light fixtures and a complex construction approach for nighttime closures. CMT has been serving MWAA at Reagan and Dulles since the early 1980s.
