Creating a Vital Hub of Connectivity Through Signature Streetscape Project
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) led the design of this award-winning pedestrian-centric urban redevelopment project, which first opened to the public as the hub of the 2012 Super Bowl Village. Completed on a compressed schedule, the project transformed a section of Georgia Street from a six-lane urban road into a scenic pedestrian corridor with increased green space and safer walkways. Since completion of the streetscape, it has served as the primary connector between the Indiana Convention Center and Gainbridge Fieldhouse and has been activated with live music, food trucks, and family fun tie-ins to attractions hosted in Downtown Indianapolis such as the NCAA College Football Playoffs, NBA All-Star weekend, and U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.
